The Parkland Premier Networking Alliance started as a group of local executives looking to expand their business contacts. After only a few months of meetings, they moved beyond simply exchanging contacts and ideas to helping the local community.

The small, but determined, group of women set their mind in April to help the children of SOS Children’s Villages in Coconut Creek. Member Sally Seyss is a long time SOS volunteer and supporter. So, when the group was looking for a worthwhile organization to support, they knew they could make a difference to the foster children at SOS. They pooled their resources to solicit raffle items; everything from certificates to restaurants and spas, to art, to hockey sticks and tickets. Then each member sold tickets to friends and associates. The winning tickets were drawn at a PNA meeting in April. Their efforts raised over $550 in just a few short weeks and, for the members, made a new connection to the lives of children in the village.

SOS Children’s Villages - Florida provides homes to abused and abandoned children who have no imminent hope of being adopted or returned to their birth families. Whenever possible, brothers and sisters are reunited at SOS. SOS is home to up to 66 children and is part of a worldwide network of over 400 villages caring for disadvantaged children. SOS nurtures and supports these boys and girls in order to prepare them for a future as productive members of society.
